Population
A population concentrated around large urban areas
Canada is one of the least densely populated countries in the world: the vast majority of its inhabitants live in a narrow band near the US border, especially in the Windsor–Quebec City corridor, while the Far North remains largely uninhabited. Its population growth, one of the fastest in the developed world since the 2010s, relies almost entirely on immigration; it has slowed markedly since 2025 after the federal government deliberately tightened admission targets.
